Scotty Cameron’s new Select Fastback 2 and Squareback 1.5 putters

Based on demand from TOUR players, Scotty Cameron had added two new putter models to its line of Select putters.

In 2018, Scotty Cameron released a line of seven Select putter models that featured multi-material constructions; 6061 aircraft aluminum face-sole components and 303 stainless steel bodies.

TOUR players, however, asked for putter models with prototype neck. Due to that feedback, Cameron added a Select Fastback 2 and a Select Squareback 1.5 to the lineup.

“Extending the Select line was all about taking the feedback we got from players and incorporating it into new offerings,” said master craftsmen Scotty Cameron in a press release. “Shortly after we introduced the 2018 Fastback and Squareback models on TOUR, players began asking for them with prototype necks. We are seeing more and more players gravitate to these nice, compact head shapes. They’re not blades and not exactly mallets. We call them mid-mallets. By creating the Fastback 2 with a plumbing neck, and the Squareback 1.5 with our mini-slant neck, we’re giving players everything they asked for and more.”

The 2019 Fastback 2 rounded mid-mallet design, following up on the 2018 Fastback, has a new plumbing neck, and the topline has been given a thinner look, according to the company, and a reduction in face height.

The 2019 Squareback 1.5, which follows up the 2018 Squareback, has an even more squared off look and “mini-slant neck,” according to the company. Scotty Cameron has added more draft angle to the sole to accommodate for the new neck, thus producing more toe flow, says the company.

Like the 2018 Select putters, the two new additions have adjustable, stainless steel weights in the sole. They have a raw stainless steel finish that is bead-blasted, and they come stock with stepless steel shafts and Matador mid-size grips. The two new models will be available on February 15 for $399 apiece.
