Tom Watson claims 17th career victory at the Memorial

At the 1979 Memorial Tournament presented by Workday, Tom Watson won his 17th PGA TOUR title with tough weather conditions and very fast greens. At the time of the tournament, Jack Nicklaus called the course “impossible.”
