The PGA TOUR gallops into the Lone Star State, starting its two-week Texas stint at the Texas Children’s Houston Open.
Scottie Scheffler took the lead with a course-record tying 62 on Friday, becoming the first and only player to 11-under. Canadian Taylor Pendrith marked his second 65 in as many days to sit one back at 10-under. Min Woo Lee and Ryan Gerard, who were both on the course when play was suspended due to darkness after thunderstorms caused a mid-afternoon delay, finished at 10-under Saturday morning to join Pendrith in a tie for second.
Rory McIlroy surged above the cut line with three birdies in his last four holes to finish the day 4-under with a 66.
