Samuel Anderson carded an 8-under 64 to take a three-stroke lead at the Diners Club Peru Open at the Los Inkas Golf Club. Anderson holds sole possession of the 36-hole lead for the first time this season after carding his sixth straight sub-70 round.
Anderson was 6-under on the back-nine and has not made a bogey on Nos. 1-9 through the first two rounds. Anderson made four birdies and an eagle on No. 3 after starting the second round on the No. 10 tee.
After finishing T28 at the Bupa Championship at Tulum and missing the cut at the Totalplay Championship at Atlas Country Club, Anderson registered his best finish of the season at the 69th ECP Brazil Open. Anderson finished T6 after making 14 birdies over the final two rounds at the Rio Olympic Golf Course.
After starring at the University of Wisconsin, Anderson turned professional in 2021. The Stoughton, Wisconsin native finished T14 at the 2023 Diners Club Peru Open on PGA TOUR Latinoamérica, his best finish of the 2023 season.
All players finished the second round with the final group finishing at 6:05 p.m. CT. Third-round play will start Saturday at 7:59 a.m. CT.
