PGA TOUR Champions rolls on this Friday with the sixth playing of the Sanford International at the historic Minnehaha Country Club in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The Sanford International features a strong field of competitors. Current Charles Schwab Cup leader Ernie Els has had a successful season with three tournament wins and nine top-10 finishes. Last year's Charles Schwab Cup champion Steve Stricker is currently seventh in the standings and looks to defend his title in South Dakota. Steven Alker, who finished second in last season's Charles Schwab Cup race, is also participating. The tournament includes accomplished players such as last week's winner and major champion Y.E. Yang, THE PLAYERS winner K.J. Choi and PGA TOUR Champions win leader Bernhard Langer.

In last year's Sanford International, Steve Stricker secured his sixth victory of the season. Stricker went wire-to-wire to claim his third title at this event, finishing at 16-under par. K.J. Choi mounted a challenge in the final round, shooting a 5-under 65 that included a front-nine 30 to briefly take the lead. However, Stricker's 4-under 66 in the final round, highlighted by an eagle on the 12th hole, was enough to edge out Choi by a single stroke.

Stricker is looking to make history by becoming the first player to three-peat an event on both PGA TOUR Champions and the PGA TOUR. Stricker was the last player to win three in a row on the PGA TOUR, claiming victory at the John Deere Classic three times from 2009-11.
