Former North Florida resident Rocco Mediate betters an opening-round 5-under 67 with a 66 in Round 2 to claim a share of the 11-under lead with 18-hole co-leader Bob Estes in his bid for a fifth PGA TOUR Champions title and first since the 2019 Sanford International.
World Golf Hall of Fame Member and Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, resident Vijay Singh opens with back-to-back 4-under 68s as he tries for a third top-10 finish in as many starts on PGA TOUR Champions this season.
Mario Tiziani, who earned a berth in the field when Steve Stricker withdrew, opens with matching 4-under 68s in his bid for a first career PGA TOUR Champions title (57th start this week).

Coming off top-10 finishes in his last two starts at the Sanford International (T7) and PURE Insurance Championship (T3), he bettered an opening-round 5-under 67 with a 66 in the second round, good for a share of the 11-under lead.
He is 2-for-3 when attempting to convert a 36-hole lead/co-lead into victory in 54-hole events on PGA TOUR Champions; he also emerged victorious with the 36-hole lead at the 2016 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship (four rounds).
In three previous Constellation FURYK & FRIENDS starts, the former North Florida resident improved with each finish: T46/2021, T30/2022, T15/2023.
A win this week would mark his fifth on PGA TOUR Champions and first since the 2019 Sanford International, a span of 98 starts from victory-to-victory.
His best finish this season, solo-second, came at the Chubb Classic after opening with a 9-under 63 (reduced to 36 holes, due to inclement weather).
He began the week at No. 30 in the Charles Schwab Cup standings.

Highlighted by an eagle-birdie-par-birdie-birdie stretch on Nos. 12-16, the 18-hole co-leader followed a first-round 6-under 66 with a 67 to maintain a share of the lead at 11-under 133.
This week’s Constellation FURYK & FRIENDS marks his first 36-hole lead/co-lead on PGA TOUR Champions; his previous-best 36-hole position of solo-second at the 2022 Rapiscan Systems Classic ended with a solo fourth.
The 58-year-old remains in search of his first win on PGA TOUR Champions (126th start); best finish: 2nd/2020 Chubb Classic.
He has amassed five top-10 finishes in 19 starts this season before this week; best finishes: T5/U.S. Senior Open, The Ally Challenge).
In two previous starts at the Constellation FURYK & FRIENDS, finished T14/2022 and T32/2023.
He began the week at No. 27 in the Charles Schwab Cup standings.
He won four times on the PGA TOUR (656 starts), most recently at 2002 Kemper Insurance Open.

Looking to crack the top-10 in his fourth Constellation FURYK & FRIENDS start, World Golf Hall of Fame member Vijay Singh opened with back-to-back 4-under 68s to move to T3 at 8-under 136 (T28/2023, T43/2022, T11/2021); he comes off top-10 finishes in his last two starts (10/Shaw Charity Classic, T3/PURE Insurance Championship).
Making his PGA TOUR Champions debut by way of a sponsor exemption, 18-hole co-leader Freddie Jacobson followed an opening-round 6-under 66 with a 74 in Round 2 and sits T24 at 4-under 140; he celebrated his 50th birthday on Sept. 26.
Defending champion Brett Quigley sits T24 at 4-under 140 after opening 69-71.
Making his 100th start on PGA TOUR Champions, Charles Schwab Cup leader Ernie Els followed an opening round 1-under 71 with a 69 in Round 2. He will enter the final round T24 at 4-under 140.
David Duval, who was born in Jacksonville and grew up playing Timuquana Country Club under the guidance of his father and longtime head professional at the club, Bob Duval, sits T43 at 1-under 143.
Tournament host Jim Furyk sits T61 at 3-over 147 after opening with scores of 73-74.
