Another "burly boy" is headed to the PGA TOUR.
University of Oklahoma alum Quade Cummins secured his 2025 PGA TOUR card with a T5 finish Sunday at the Pinnacle Bank Championship presented by Woodhouse, crossing the points threshold to secure a spot in the top 30 on the season-long Korn Ferry Tour Points List. Cummins ranks No. 8 on the season-long standings with five events remaining and cannot fall outside the top 30.
Cummins, 28, has recorded 12 top-25 finishes in 20 Korn Ferry Tour starts this season, highlighted by a runner-up finish at The Bahamas Great Abaco Classic at The Abaco Club in January and three other top-five finishes. He has competed full-time on the Korn Ferry Tour for the past three seasons, steadily progressing on the Points List from No. 70 in 2022, to No. 59 in 2023, to safely inside this year’s top 30. The Oklahoma native finished No. 6 on the inaugural 2021 PGA TOUR University Ranking, when only the top five received automatic Korn Ferry Tour membership, to narrowly miss that status. He competed on PGA TOUR Canada that summer and earned Korn Ferry Tour status via Q-School.
Cummins makes his hay around the greens, ranked inside the Korn Fery Tour’s top 10 in putts per round, scrambling and putting average. Now he’ll take his talents to the PGA TOUR, where he’ll join his college teammate and fellow "burly boy" (their self-dubbed college nickname) Chris Gotterup.
Gotterup, winner of this year's Myrtle Beach Classic, called Cummins on Wednesday morning to deliver the #TOURBound news in triumphant fashion. Safe to say that plenty of PGA TOUR practice rounds are in their future.
Thirty PGA TOUR cards will be finalized at the season-ending Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance, contested Oct. 3-6 at French Lick Golf Resort’s Pete Dye Course in southern Indiana.
