Korn Ferry Tour, Utah Sports Commission announce extension through 2027

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – The Korn Ferry Tour and Utah Sports Commission jointly announced an extension which will see the Utah Championship presented by Zions Bank and Intermountain Health continue to appear on the Korn Ferry Tour schedule through at least 2027. In addition to the Utah Sports Commission continuing as the host organization through 2027, the tournament will move to a new course, with Ogden Golf & Country Club becoming the host venue for the 2025 playing of the event.

“We are grateful to continue our long-standing partnership with the Utah Championship presented by Zions Bank and Intermountain Health, as well as Jeff Robbins and his fantastic team at the Utah Sports Commission,” said Korn Ferry Tour President Alex Baldwin. “The Utah Championship has been a staple of our Tour for over 30 years, and we are excited to welcome Ogden Golf & Country Club to the Korn Ferry Tour family as we begin the next chapter of this storied event.”

The Utah Championship presented by Zions Bank and Intermountain Health is one of five events currently on the Korn Ferry Tour schedule which was contested in its inaugural 1990 season. Notable past champions include two-time major championship winners John Daly (1990) and Zach Johnson (2003), as well as 2015 Korn Ferry Tour Player of the Year and three-time PGA TOUR winner Patton Kizzire (2015), and three-time PGA TOUR winners Brendon Todd (2008) and Cameron Champ (2018).

The tournament’s 2024 champion, Karl Vilips, went on to secure his first PGA TOUR card at season’s end via a No. 19 finish on the Korn Ferry Tour Points List.

The Utah Sports Commission will continue its longstanding relationship with the PGA TOUR as the host and operator of the Utah Championship presented by Zions Bank and Intermountain Health. Throughout its history, the Sports Commission has worked with its partners to establish Utah as a premier sports and entertainment destination, hosting 1,100 sporting events in the state since it was established in 2000. The sports commission also played a key role in Utah’s successful bid for the 2034 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

The Utah Championship presented by Zions Bank and Intermountain Health will continue its proud partnership with Korn Ferry Tour alum and six-time PGA TOUR winner Tony Finau and the Tony Finau Foundation. The foundation aims to empower and inspire youth and their families to discover, develop and achieve the best of their gifts and talents through the game of golf, educational funding and core family values. Since joining the Utah Championship in 2018, the foundation has received more than $500,000 from the tournament thus far.

Founded in 1914, Ogden Golf & Country Club is the oldest club at its original location in Utah. Nestled between the mountain peaks of Mount Ogden and Ben Lomond Mountain, it was originally built as a nine-hole course, with former club professional Ernie Schneiter Sr. adding the current front nine in 1948. In addition to being home to the Weber State men’s and women’s golf teams, the club has hosted many prestigious professional and amateur events, including the Utah Open, the Utah State Amateur, Junior America’s Cup and the 1963 LPGA Riverside Ladies Open.
