The first of four Korn Ferry Tour Finals events kicks off from Boise, Idaho, with the Albertsons Boise Open presented by Chevron. Upon conclusion of the Albertsons Boise Open, the top 144 players on the 2024 Korn Ferry Tour Points List will qualify for the Simmons Bank Open for the Snedeker Foundation, the second of four Finals events. At the conclusion of the Korn Ferry Tour Finals, the the top 30 players on the final 2024 Korn Ferry Tour Points List earn PGA TOUR membership for 2025.

This year marks the 35th playing of the Albertsons Boise Open, one of four events played every season since the Korn Ferry Tour’s inaugural 1990 season. Hillcrest Country Club has hosted every iteration of the event.

Check out some storylines for this week and how to follow the action on Golf Channel.

    TOUR status on the horizon

The top 10 players on the 2024 Korn Ferry Tour Points List have been declared #TOURBound and secured PGA TOUR membership for the 2025 season, leaving 20 cards up for grabs throughout the Korn Ferry Tour Finals. Taylor Dickson, Harry Higgs, Matt McCarty, Max McGreevy and Tim Widing are all seeking their third win of the 2024 season and the Three-Victory Promotion, which would earn them a promotion to the PGA TOUR for the FedExCup Fall.

    The race for No. 1

McGreevy won his second Korn Ferry Tour title of the season – and third of his career – at last week’s Magnit Championship. Two weeks ago, McCarty won for a second time in four events and rose to No. 1 on the 2024 Korn Ferry Tour Points List. McCarty leads McGreevy (No. 2 on the Points List) by 94.233 points, roughly equivalent to a top-eight finish in a Finals event. While the top 30 players on the final 2024 Korn Ferry Tour Points List earn PGA TOUR membership for 2025, the No. 1 player earns fully exempt membership and exemptions for both the 2025 PLAYERS Championship and 2025 U.S. Open.

    Finals season

The Korn Ferry Tour Finals refers to the final four events of the 26-event season, beginning with this week's Albertsons Boise Open, where players will compete for increased purses and points (600 points for winning a Finals event, compared to 500 for winning one of the 22 preceding events) to determine the season-long points race. The total purse for each of the first 22 events is $1 million ($180,000 to the winner) and increases to $1.5 million for each of the four Korn Ferry Tour Finals events.
