Making history
Entering the field as the youngest Korn Ferry Tour member this season, South African-native Aldrich Potgieter secured the victory in January at The Bahamas Great Abaco Classic at The Abaco Club. This win named him the youngest winner on either the Korn Ferry Tour or PGA TOUR since 1931 at just 19 years, 4 months and 11 days. Just two weeks later, Potgieter carded an 11-under 59 second round to become the youngest player to record a sub-60 round in a PGA TOUR-sanctioned event at the Astara Golf Championship presented by Mastercard.
Looking for third win
As two of the three two-time winners this season, Tim Widing and Taylor Dickson enter the field this week hoping to secure their third win in order to receive the Three-Victory Promotion, which would result in an immediate promotion to the PGA TOUR.
From PGA TOUR University to Korn Ferry Tour
Eight of the top 10 players from the 2024 PGA TOUR University Ranking enter this week’s field, including No. 2 Christo Lamprecht (Georgia Tech), No. 3 Austin Greaser (North Carolina), No. 4 Matthew Riedel (Vanderbilt), No. 5 Nick Gabrelcik, No. 6 William Moll, No. 7 Cole Sherwood (Vanderbilt), No. 9 Gustav Frimodt (TMU) and No. 10 Karl Vilips (Stanford). This week will mark Frimodt and Vilips’s Korn Ferry Tour debuts via sponsor exemptions.
