KANSAS CITY, Mo.– The Korn Ferry Tour announced today a three-year extension with AdventHealth to remain the title sponsor of the AdventHealth Championship through 2029.

The AdventHealth Championship, which was first held in 2009, will host its 14th event this week at Blue Hills Country Club in Kansas City, Missouri. Competition will begin Thursday, May 16, and conclude with the final round Sunday, May 19.

AdventHealth has experienced significant growth in the Kansas City region. Founded in 1962 as a one-story, 65-bed community hospital, AdventHealth Shawnee Mission has evolved into a world-class health system serving the Kansas City region and beyond, including the addition of two inpatient hospitals with AdventHealth South Overland Park, which opened in 2021, and AdventHealth Lenexa City Center, which is due to open in 2025. The health system focuses on whole person health and wellness with a mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ.

In 2023, the AdventHealth Championship raised nearly $250,000 for the tournament benefactor, the AdventHealth Kansas City Foundation, to distribute through the Play It Forward program, which aims to support fundraiser awareness and assist philanthropic needs.

In total, the AdventHealth Championship has generated nearly $1 million in funds raised for local charities in the Kansas City community since its inception.

“We are excited to extend our partnership with the PGA TOUR to keep professional golf in Kansas City,” said Rick Amos, tournament director of the AdventHealth Championship. “This event has tremendous momentum with AdventHealth as our title sponsor and host organization. The championship is setup for dynamic growth over the next few years with the ultimate goal of continuing to give back to our community.”

The AdventHealth Championship is a 72-hole event where 156 Korn Ferry Tour members from around the world compete for a $1 million purse and to accumulate points towards the season-long Korn Ferry Tour Points List. At the end of the 26-event season, the top 30 players on the points list will earn PGA TOUR cards for the 2025 season. Past winners of the AdventHealth Championship include two-time PGA TOUR winners Sepp Straka (2018) and reigning champion Grayson Murray (2023), as well as the current No. 16 ranked player in the world, Cameron Young (2021).

“We are grateful to have AdventHealth as part of the Korn Ferry Tour family, and we are thankful for the strong partnership we’ve built since 2021,” said Korn Ferry Tour President Alex Baldwin. “AdventHealth displays a clear commitment to its local community and making a lasting impact in the KC Heartland, and we are thrilled to continue working alongside Sam Huenergardt and his team for years to come.”
