Aldrich Potgieter shot the second sub-60 round in as many days at the Korn Ferry Tour's Astara Golf Championship presented by Mastercard in Bogota, Colombia, on Friday.

Potgieter, who is 19 and already became the youngest winner in Korn Ferry Tour history earlier this season, birdied his last three holes for the 12th sub-60 score in Korn Ferry Tour history. The round comes one day after Cristobal Del Solar’s record 57 at the Country Club de Bogota’s Pacos course in Thursday's opening round.

Friday’s round left Potgieter at 16-under par, one ahead of Del Solar, who shot 69 in his second round on the tougher Lagos course. The Astara Golf Championship now becomes the first TOUR-sanctioned tournament with two sub-60 scores in the same week.

Potgieter got off to a scorching start, turning in 7-under 28. He made five birdies and an eagle on his opening nine holes after starting on the back nine at Pacos. After making the turn, he added birdies on Nos. 1 and 2, moving to 9-under through 11 holes at the par-70 layout, which plays to 6,254 yards at nearly 9,000 feet of elevation.

He birdied the last three holes on the front nine for his 59.

Each player rotates between Country Club de Bogota's Pacos and Lagos courses for the opening two rounds in Bogota. The final two rounds are played at Lagos.

Potgieter, who won The Amateur Championship in 2022 at Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club, has quickly made a mark on the Korn Ferry Tour. After earning guaranteed starts as medalist at Q-School’s Second Stage in early December, he won last month’s The Bahamas Great Abaco Classic at The Abaco Club, becoming the youngest winner in Korn Ferry Tour history at 19 years, 4 months, 11 days. He now becomes the youngest player to record a sub-60 round in a PGA TOUR-sanctioned event.

Del Solar’s round Thursday was the lowest score on record in a TOUR-sanctioned event, his 57 surpassing Stephan Jaeger (2016 Ellie Mae Classic, Korn Ferry Tour) and Jim Furyk (2016 Travelers Championship, PGA TOUR), who carded rounds of 58 in back-to-back weeks.
