Chile native Cristobal Del Solar earned his first Korn Ferry Tour title Sunday at The Ascendant presented by Blue, finishing 22-under at TPC Colorado for a four-stroke win over Brian Campbell and Matthew Riedel.
Del Solar trailed 54-hole leader Matt McCarty by three strokes into Sunday, but the Florida State alum stormed to the top of the leaderboard with a final-round, 6-under 66 that included eagles at the par-5 fifth and 15th holes, from 33 and 40 feet respectively. He finished in style with a chip-in birdies at the par-3 16th and par-4 18th holes.
With the win, Del Solar moves to No. 5 on the season-long Korn Ferry Tour Points List and clinches 2025 PGA TOUR membership via the top 30 on the season-long standings, which will be finalized after the Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance in October. Also becoming #TOURBound to date in 2024: Tim Widing, Harry Higgs, Steven Fisk and Max McGreevy.
Earlier this year, Del Solar made history as the first player to shoot 57 in a PGA TOUR-sanctioned event; the seven-year pro carded 13-under 57 in the opening round of the Astara Golf Championship presented by Mastercard in Bogota, Colombia.
Now, Mr. 57 is headed to the PGA TOUR.
