Half the field at the Shriners Children's Open will come back Saturday morning to play as many as 17 holes of the second round as wild winds delayed play Friday at TPC Summerlin.

Taylor Pendrith, 10-under, led when play was suspended at 6:02 p.m. local time. He was part of the afternoon wave that will resume on Saturday. Pendrith was even-par through six holes of his second round. Doug Ghim, Kurt Kitayama, Davis Thompson and J.J. Spaun shared the clubhouse lead at 8-under. Round 2 will resume at 7:15 a.m. local.

Play was off-schedule from the very beginning of the day, as the start of play Friday was delayed four hours due to high winds gusting over 50 mph. Out of an abundance of caution for spectator safety, gates to the Shriners Children’s Open were closed to all spectators. General admission and hospitality tickets for Friday will be honored for Saturday at TPC Summerlin.

When play finally resumed just before 11 a.m., it was assured the second round would not finish. Sixty-six players have yet to complete their second round. The cut is currently projected at 2-under.
