Rickie Fowler unveils new Cobra RF Proto MB irons at Hero World Challenge
1 Min Read
Rickie Fowler, who is not one to change equipment often, is testing new irons as he gears up for the Hero World Challenge this week and the Presidents Cup next week.
For years, Fowler used Cobra’s King Forged MB irons that had a black finish, but it looks as though he may be moving onto a new set. During the Pro-Am at the 2019 Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, PGATOUR.COM photographed Fowler with a bag full of RF Proto MB irons.
According to our sources at Cobra, Fowler worked closely with the company’s R&D team on the designs, which are CNC Milled. Cobra did not release any further details but did mention that once the irons are dialed in, discussions about retail possibilities may be had.
Fowler also comes to the Hero World Challenge with Cobra’s new King Speedzone driver in the bag after using the company’s King F9 Speedback driver throughout 2019. According to Cobra, it’s a 10.5-degree head in the -1.5 degree setting, and it’s equipped with a new Fujikura Ventus Black 7X shaft at 43 inches.
