PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – The PGA TOUR announced Wednesday that Belgium’s Adrien Dumont de Chassart has been named the 2023 Korn Ferry Tour Rookie of the Year, as voted by Korn Ferry Tour membership.

Dumont de Chassart joined the Korn Ferry Tour last year halfway through the season after finishing No. 3 in the 2023 PGA TOUR University Rankings. Dumont de Chassart immediately burst onto the professional scene in his rookie campaign, winning in his Korn Ferry Tour and professional debut at the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX in a playoff over Josh Teater. The 23-year-old Belgian nearly won his next start at the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Wichita Open, but fell to Ricky Castillo in a three-man playoff that also featured Kyle Jones.

Over his next four starts, Dumont de Chassart recorded finishes of T8, T6, T7 and T10 to start his career with six consecutive top-10 finishes. Despite only making 11 total starts during the entire 26-event schedule, Dumont de Chassart finished the season No. 11 on the Korn Ferry Tour Points List to earn PGA TOUR status for the 2024 season.

In five seasons at the University of Illinois, Dumont de Chassart earned three consecutive Big Ten Conference Player of the Year honors (2021-23) and was named a First Team All-American in 2023, after receiving second-team honors in 2021 and 2022. He logged four collegiate victories, including co-medalist honors at the 2019 Big Ten Conference championship. He also helped Illinois capture four conference titles (2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023), extending the program’s run of consecutive Big Ten Championships to eight. He holds the school record for career scoring average (70.82) and posted the two lowest, single-season scoring averages in program history (69.56 in 2022-23, 70.08 in 2021-22).

Dumont de Chassart will make his debut as a PGA TOUR member this week at the Sony Open in Hawaii at Waialae Country Club in Honolulu.
