The U.S. Open is the most democratic of golf's major championships. Approximately half the field is determined by final qualifying, allowing anyone from club champions to major champions to play their way into the field. The USGA will conduct 11 qualifiers for this year’s championship at Torrey Pines Golf Club in San Diego.
