Tee times delayed, Monday finish determined for ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP

    Written by Staff

Update (9 p.m. ET): PGA TOUR officials released the following statement:

"Given the rain that the golf course received, the maintenance team and the golf course itself responded remarkably. After spending the morning repairing bunkers and working tirelessly to get the course in appropriate condition, Rules and Competitions staff have assessed the playability of 18 holes and have determined that due to the excessive amount of rain the par-4 10th hole will be significantly shortened for round 2. Preferred lies will be in effect for the second round. Should all players finish the second round on Saturday, the third round will begin on Sunday morning at 6:30 a.m. local time."

Due to the amount of rain which Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club received on Friday, Round 2 of the ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP is now scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. local time Saturday. More than six inches of rain was recorded at the venue on Friday.

Due to safety concerns, PGA TOUR officials have announced the course will unfortunately be closed to all spectators and ticket holders on Saturday as the well-being of our fans is paramount. Information on tickets will be made available on the tournament website, zozochampionship.com

Per regulations, PGA TOUR officials have determined the event will conclude on Monday, October 28, in order to complete 72 holes.

At this time, Sunday’s play will be open to spectators who hold Sunday tickets. Spectator and ticket information for Monday will be announced in due course.
