Charles Schwab Challenge hole overview at Colonial Country Club

From the tough test of Bethpage Black to the nice and tight old school golf that Colonial Country Club has provided us for decades – it is time for the Charles Schwab Challenge.

Those in the spotlight are a group of PGA TOUR winners. They know how to get it done and are looking to add to their legacies.

Plot your way around the joint with cleverness and you will be rewarded with multiple looks at birdie. From there, it’s up to you to take advantage.

Here’s a look at some of the Featured Groups (FedExCup ranking in parenthesis) this week.

    RADIO: Thursday-Friday, 1-7 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday, 1-6 p.m. (PGA TOUR Radio on SiriusXM and PGATOUR.com).

Bryson DeChambeau (24) – Been awhile since the five-time PGA TOUR winner played at his best, but a course that requires brains will help him. He leads the TOUR in putting: birdies-or-better. Also fourth in total driving and 25th in adjusted scoring.
Rickie Fowler (7) – Has three top 15s at Colonial in the past and already has a win this season. Played pretty well at the PGA Championship until the final round in tough conditions.
Max Homa (40) – Just his second time at Colonial but the Wells Fargo Championship winner is in great form and is clearly not afraid to mix it up with the best.
    Round 1 tee time: 8:55 a.m. ET
    Round 2 tee time: 12:55 p.m. ET

Jordan Spieth (91) – Welcome to one of Spieth’s tracks. Winner in 2016 and has two other runner up appearances. Led the field last week in Strokes Gained: Putting. Could really blow the reported slump away this week!
Kevin Kisner (16) – Went T5-T10-Win at Colonial from 2015-2017 and won the Match Play in March, but he hasn't had a top 20 in a stroke-play individual event since November. Will look to change that this week.
Ryan Palmer (21) – His recent win at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with Jon Rahm gets this Colonial member back for his 16th appearance. Has with three top fives in the event. Ranks 10th in GIR this season.
    Round 1 tee time: 9:06 a.m. ET
    Round 2 tee time: 1:06 p.m. ET

Justin Rose (11) – The FedExCup champion shot 20-under last year to take the title. He has posted three top 10s since THE PLAYERS. The perfect type of track for this sublime ball striker.
Francesco Molinari (17) – The winner from the Arnold Palmer Invitational earlier this year, Molinari is making his first appearance at the ball-strikers paradise. If he plays up to his usual standards, he should be right up there on Sunday.
Brandt Snedeker (41) – The 2012 FedExCup champion is chasing his 10th PGA TOUR title. He was runner up at Colonial in 2015.
    Round 1 tee time: 1:06 p.m. ET,
    Round 2 tee time: 9:06 a.m. ET
