The PGA TOUR Americas season continues with the second event of the season, the 70th ECP Brazil Open from the Rio Olympic Golf Course in Rio de Janeiro. It is the second of 16 events in the season and second of six events in Segment I.

Players to watch
- Ryan Grider (United States): In his PGA TOUR Americas debut, Grider claimed his first victory as a professional in his 12th PGA TOUR-sanctioned event at the 93 Abierto Telecom del Centro presentado por Zurich in Cordoba, Argentina. Grider secured exempt status through the 2026 Latin America Swing after beginning the season as a conditional member.
- Michael Brennan (United States): Brennan picked up where he left off in 2024, starting the season with a T3 finish last week in Cordoba. Brennan finished as the No. 12 player in the PGA TOUR University Class of 2024 and finished No. 18 in the 2024 Fortinet Cup.
- Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira (Argentina): In his native country, Oliveira secured his first top 10 of the season after carding a 6-under 65 in the final round at Cordoba Golf Club.
- A.J. Ewart (Canada): Ewart started his season off with a T20 finish in Cordoba, his third top-25 finish in nine starts on PGA TOUR Americas. Ewart earned full status for the 2025 Latin America Swing after a successful Segment II in 2024 that included his first victory as a professional.
- Rodolfo Cazaubon (Mexico): The lone player in the field who participated in the 2016 Olympic Games, Cazaubon represented Mexico at the Rio Olympic Golf Course. The former Olympian returned to Rio Olympic Golf Course in 2017 where he won the 64th ECP Brazil Open.
- Joey Vrzich (United States): A 7-under 64in the final round at Cordoba Golf Club helped Vrzich secure a runner-up finish in Cordoba, his best as a professional. Vrzich made 13 cuts in 16 starts on PGA TOUR Americas in 2024, including a T19 finish at the 69th ECP Brazil Open.
- Joey Savoie (Canada): Savoie posted eight top-25 finishes on PGA TOUR Americas last season, including a T19 at the 69th ECP Brazil Open, and finished No. 13 in the Fortinet Cup.
- John Marshall Butler (United States): Butler earned status on PGA TOUR Americas last summer through Mid-Season Q-School after leading Auburn University to the 2024 NCAA Team National Championship. Butler finished No. 80 in the Fortinet Cup to retain status for Segment I of 2025 and finished T13 in Cordoba last weekend.
- Fred Biondi (Brazil): The No. 2 player in the PGA TOUR University Class of 2023, Biondi will make his PGA TOUR Americas debut at the 70th ECP Brazil Open. The Sao Paulo native has made 32 career Korn Ferry Tour starts, 10 starts on TOUR and two on PGA TOUR Latinoamérica, including at the 2018 Brazil Open (MC) as an amateur.
Tournament history
The 70th ECP Brazil Open is being played at the Rio Olympic Golf Course in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for the second straight year and fourth time overall (2016 and 2017 as a PGA TOUR Latinoamérica event). The tournament has been a PGA TOUR-sanctioned event since 2012 and has been contested 11 times on PGA TOUR Americas and Latinoamérica. Past champions of the event include Korn Ferry Tour members Matthew Anderson (2024), Shad Tuten (2019) and Marcelo Rozo (2018). TOUR members Keith Mitchell, Corey Conners and Joel Dahmen are notable past participants of the event.
Fortinet Cup overview
The 70th ECP Brazil Open is the second event of the Latin America Swing (Segment I) and the 2025 PGA TOUR Americas season. Segment I is comprised of six events in Latin America across six countries.
After Segment I, the top 60 players in the Fortinet Cup standings will retain status for the in North America Swing (Segment II). Membership for Segment II will include the top 60 players in the Fortinet Cup, the 54 players who earn exempt status through PGA TOUR Americas Mid-Season Q-School and players 11-25 in the 2025 PGA TOUR University Ranking.
