Players to watch

Michael Brennan (United States) – After finishing No. 12 in the 2024 PGA TOUR University Ranking, Brennan found success fast in his first summer as a professional. In 10 starts, Brennan finished inside the top 10 five times and ended the season No. 18 in the Fortinet Cup.

Joey Savoie (Canada) – Savoie is the top returning Canadian on PGA TOUR Americas after finishing No. 13 in the 2024 Fortinet Cup. Savoie registered four top-10s in 2024, which included a T2 finish at the Manitoba Open. Savoie also led all PGA TOUR Americas players in consecutive holes without a bogey (98).

Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira (Argentina) – The No. 22 player in the 2024 Fortinet Cup, Oliveira found himself in contention on multiple occasions, including at the Times Colonist Victoria Open presented by Andrew Sheret Limited where he registered a season-best runner-up finish.

Tommy Cocha (Argentina) – Cocha retained status for Segment I of the 2025 season after finishing No. 47 in the 2024 Fortinet Cup. A Salta, Argentina, native, Cocha won the 2015 Abierto Telecom del Centro presentado por Zurich when the event was contested on PGA TOUR Latinoamérica.

Nelson Ledesma (Argentina) – A native of Tucuman, Argentina, Ledesma finished in the No. 60 spot in the 2024 Korn Ferry Tour points list. Ledesma won the Abierto Telecom del Centro presentado por Zurich in 2017 and will be making his fifth start in the event.

A.J. Ewart (Canada) – Ewart earned full status for this season after a successful Segment II in 2024 that included his first victory as a professional. Ewart, who became one of the most decorated collegiate golfers at the Division II level at Barry University, was the only player to win on a sponsor exemption on PGA TOUR Americas in 2024.

John Marshall Butler (United States) – Butler earned status on PGA TOUR Americas last summer through mid-season Q-School after leading Auburn University to the 2024 NCAA Team National Championship. Butler finished No. 80 in the Fortinet Cup to retain status for Segment I of 2025.

Tournament history

The 93 Abierto Telecom del Centro presentado por Zurich is located at Cordoba Golf Club in Cordoba, Argentina. The tournament has been a PGA TOUR-sanctioned event since 2013 and has been contested eight times. Past champions of the event include PGA TOUR members Alejandro Tosti (2022) and Cristobal del Solar (2018) as well as Korn Ferry Tour members Tom Whitney (2019) and Nelson Ledesma (2017). PGA TOUR Americas member Tommy Cocha won the event in 2015.

Fortinet Cup overview

The 93 Abierto Telecom del Centro presentado por Zurich is the season-opening event of the Latin America Swing (Segment I) and the 2025 PGA TOUR Americas season. Segment I is comprised of six events in Latin America across six countries.

After Segment I, the top 60 players in the Fortinet Cup standings will retain status for the North America Swing (Segment II). Membership for Segment II will include the top 60 players in the Fortinet Cup, the 54 players who earn exempt status through PGA TOUR Americas mid-season Q-School and players 11-25 in the 2025 PGA TOUR University Ranking.
