SHERWOOD PARK, Alberta – Sandy Scott holds sole possession of the lead at the ATB Classic after carding a 4-under second round at Northern Bear Golf Club. Argentinian Tommy Cocha and Americans David Perkins and George Markham head to the weekend in a three-way tie (T2/-9) behind Scott.

The Inverness, Scotland, native broke the tie for second on the final hole of his second-round after getting a tough birdie putt to drop.

“I probably had just over 30 feet,” Scott said. “Although it was a double-breaker, it was kind of nice because the first half and the second half were almost equally breaking both ways so it was a very straight putt. I just focused on hitting it with good pace… It was a bonus it went in.”

Scott began his professional career in 2022 after starring at Texas Tech University from 2016-21. Scott won twice during his career in Lubbock, winning the 2019 El Macero Classic and the 2019 Carmel Cup. After his fifth season in 2020-21 was cut short due to a wrist injury, Scott earned status on PGA TOUR Latinoámerica for the 2023 season. Scott made 12 starts in his first season in Latin America and made eight cuts with three top-10 finishes.

Scott turned in a bogey-free scorecard on Friday and has not had a blemish on his scorecard since making bogey on hole No. 8 in the first-round.

Through two rounds, Scott has hit 83.33% of Greens in Regulation, and was tied for the top scrambling percentage in the field during the second round, saving par four times without a bogey. Scott has made 11 birdies through the first two rounds, tied for the fourth most in the field.

All groups finished play on Friday. All groups will tee-off No. 1 on Saturday, with the first group teeing-off at 7:00 a.m. and the final group starting at 1:00 p.m.
