Playing in the first group Friday morning, D.J. Brigman took advantage of perfect conditions to shoot an 8-under 64 and take the lead at the Knoxville Open presented by Food City. Brigman finished the day at 13-under-par 131.

On the longest day of the year, the third round of the Knoxville Open presented by Food City was completed early due to the possibility of thunderstorms. The storms didn't arrive, but Jarrod Lyle stormed to the lead with a 5-under 67 and a 16-under-par total.

Jarrod Lyle of Australia edged Chris Kirk on the first hole of sudden death Sunday to win the Knoxville Open. The victory made Lyle the first two-time winner of the 2008 season and boosted him to the top of the money list.
