Gene Sauers and Shriners Children’s patient Paige are both survivors of Stevens-Johnson syndrome, a painful and rare skin condition described as burning from the inside out. Ahead of the 2024 Shriners Children’s Open, Paige was given the opportunity to meet Gene over FaceTime. Paige, 19, was selected as Shriners Children’s International Patient Ambassador and spends her year sharing her story and the impact Shriners Children’s has made in her life.

Ahead of the 2024 Shriners Children’s Open, Danny Willett spent time with Shriners Children’s patient Phoenix, learning about his story and hitting some putts on the course. Phoenix, 17, was born with a clubfoot and was treated at Shriners Children’s Salt Lake City starting at two months old.
