Pick: Angel Cabrera
The stocky Argentine always seems to play well in big events and his record at Doral isn't too shabby. In five trips to the Blue Monster, Cabrera has three top-20s, including ties for fifth and 10th. In three PGA TOUR events this year, he's missed the cut twice and was bounced out of the first round of the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship - admittedly nothing to write home about. Cabrera has six top-10 finishes in major championships, though, and the CA Championship is being played on a tricked-up, major-like course, which should suit Cabrera well.

Pick: Zach Johnson
Not easy in this small field selecting a player within our sleeper parameters (outside top 30 in the world, no top-fives last five starts, non-winner this season and a lover of Brussels sprouts). This guy stands out among the candidates: ties for 15th and third his last two years at Doral (including a round of 65 or lower each year), ranks fifth on TOUR in fairways hit (74.36 percent) and a tie for 14th two weeks ago that shows he can play tough courses.

Pick: Joe Durant
For a sleeper pick, why not Joe Durant? He won the 2001 PGA TOUR stop held at Doral so he comes into this World Golf Championships-CA Championship with positive vibes. Durant's also a Florida native who has fared well in his home state, winning the 2006 FUNAI Classic at Walt Disney World Resort. The four-time PGA TOUR winner has missed four of seven cuts this year, but has finished in the top 20 twice as well.

Pick: Arron Oberholser
He's a rookie on this course, but nowhere else. Not to mention, he's been steady in his last three events.

Pick: Michael Campbell
Just a guess.
|
John Maginnes
PGA TOUR Network on XM Radio analyst
Pick: Lucas Glover
My dark horse this week is Otto Hennie. No, just kidding, really it is Louis Oosthuizen. Ok that is a joke too... my dark horse is John Bickerton. Oh what a dark horse that would be. The fact of the matter is that I am a confessed golf geek and I have never heard any of those three names. I tell you what, I will find out all I can about those three gentlemen this week including what tournaments they won to get into this elite field. I will do all of that while Lucas Glover is challenging Tiger for the title of the CA Championship.

Pick: Bart Bryant
It's hard to call anyone in a field that features the top 50 in the world a sleeper. My choice this week is Bart Bryant, who tied for 12th at Doral in 2005. He's quietly had two top-10s already this year and hes been among the top 20 in his last three starts.

Dave Shedloski

Pick: Brett Wetterich
The 48th-ranked player in the world has but one top-10 finish and withdrew from Bay Hill after a dismal effort at the PODS Championship. Perhaps the week off did him some good. Power game could certainly be an advantage at Doral, where wind isn't supposed to howl. Needs putter to warm up with the warmth of south Florida.
